sb-12 prescriptive

The SB-12 Prescriptive package is typically used by builders and architectural firms to meet Building Code energy efficiency requirements. It requires installing drain water heat recovery units leading to the added cost of approximately $1,500 per unit installed. With the addition of avoidable operational overhead.

vs.
sb-12 performance

With the SB-12 Performance approach, CEA will be designing an energy simulation model of the proposed project to assess its EnerGuide energy performance rating. Projects that meet the threshold of the performance based on the municipality criteria are considered to meet the Building Code energy efficiency requirements under the SB-12 Performance approach and may not need the installation of Drain water heat recovery units. Resulting in less time and money spent. We also prepare all appropriate documentation along with engineering stamps for city’s approval.
